My name is Micha\u0142 – and for now, that\u2019s probably enough. I come from one of the smaller towns in southern Poland. Maybe one day I\u2019ll share more about myself, but today I\u2019d rather leave this space to the idea itself – the idea that brought me here, to this blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The idea for Make Me Organist<\/em> didn\u2019t come out of nowhere. I\u2019ve been surrounded by church music since childhood. A long time ago, I was a choirboy, singing soprano – then, after years away, I returned to the choir, this time as a bass. And while the form changed, the passion somehow stayed. At some point, I began to feel that I wanted something more. To learn something new. To dive deeper into the world of music. And so… I chose the organ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have no experience with keyboards. None. That\u2019s exactly why this site is called Make Me Organist<\/em>. Turn me into an organist. Or rather: I\u2019ll try to turn myself into one – and you\u2019re welcome to join me on that journey<\/p>\n\n\n\n This site will be my journal. I\u2019ll document the entire journey here – from the very beginning, from submitting documents and fulfilling requirements, through the first lessons, notes, and reflections, all the way to the moment when – hopefully – I play my first Mass. I\u2019ll share what I\u2019m learning, what the learning process looks like, what surprised me, what challenged me, and what turned out to be a discovery.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Let\u2019s not kid ourselves – this won\u2019t happen in a day. It\u2019s going to be a long-term project. The first year, my so-called \u201czero year,\u201d is dedicated to mastering the basics of music – theory, harmony, and ear training. Only after that will I begin the four-year organist course. Five years of work lie ahead. But I believe that by the end of it, I\u2019ll be able to play and accompany my first Holy Mass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019d like to join me on this journey – that\u2019s wonderful. This site is for you too.
